Christmas songs are coming back and starting to be played, but is it too early?
Debates and statements go around every year during this time:
“It's too early for Christmas music.”
“It's never too early for Christmas music!”
“Everyone’s forgetting about Thanksgiving.”
“Christmas music is great for Thanksgiving!”
So when is the right time in others’ opinions? In a survey asking, “When is playing Christmas music acceptable?” and “What is your reasoning?”, 59 people responded, offering their thoughts about when the perfect time is and why.
Looking through 24 of the responses, It was agreed that after or around the time of Thanksgiving was the best because Christmas happens directly after and it would be nice to get into the Christmas spirit. 14 responses claimed that the beginning of December was best, because that's the month of Christmas. However, five strictly claimed that only two weeks, or just a few days before Christmas, was the correct time. The rest of the responses claimed that any time is acceptable because people can do what they want.
Most people mutually agreed that after Thanksgiving was the best time to play Christmas music because it gets you into the Christmas spirit, it brings nostalgia, and it's fun! But, in the end, people can listen to whatever music they want and whenever they want. Happy Holidays!
