This year has been challenging for many seniors who’ve had to juggle college classes, jobs, and hybrid learning. It’s been tough to balance school, work, and friends and family, but senior Jenson Bauer has been doing just that this year, which she considers to be her biggest accomplishment this year.
Bauer joined the Minarets family halfway through her junior year, transferring from Liberty High School, and has since joined the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), both of which she has thoroughly enjoyed. Bauer says her favorite memory from her high school experience was making the switch to Minarets and her first day on campus. “I just remember everyone being so nice and introducing themselves,” she recalls. “After that first day, I knew that I made the right choice coming here.”
Like many seniors, Bauer is anticipating graduation with bittersweet feelings. She explains, “I'm very excited about graduation, however, I feel like I didn't get as much time here as I would have liked. As soon as I transferred here in the middle of last year, I was here for two months. Then COVID hit, and now we're finally back, but I'm right around the corner from graduating.”
But even with every curveball, the pandemic has thrown, Bauer still has set big ambitions for herself after high school. This fall, she will be attending Oklahoma State University, majoring in finance. She plans to be a financial adviser or financial manager after college.
