The National Honor Society (NHS) announced that Kaitlynn Linderholm, a high school senior at Minarets High School and member of the NHS, has been selected as an NHS Scholarship semifinalist. Linderholm was chosen from more than 11,000 applicants and will receive a $3,200 scholarship toward higher education.

For nearly 100 years, NHS members have been making a difference in their schools and communities and the NHS Scholarship is NASSP’s way of recognizing the most exceptional of these student leaders. Recipients are chosen based on their demonstrated work to support the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

NHS Adviser Kaitlin Morgan said, "Kaitlynn was one of the founding members of our National Honor Society chapter and I'm incredibly proud of her prestigious accomplishment. This is especially meaningful as she is the first person in our young club's history to win this award."

At Minarets, Linderholm is an active member of Future Farmers of America (FFA), California Scholarship Federation (CSF), and, of course, NHS. She is currently the Chapter Reporter for Minarets FFA and the team captain for Minarets Equestrian Team. She volunteers at Chowchilla Western Stampede, Large Animal Evacuation Crew, Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds, Fresno Police Activities League, and Miss Madera County. This fall, she will be attending Fresno State University to study Ag education.

Since 1946, more than $15 million in scholarships has been awarded to outstanding NHS senior members to support college access and student success. The scholarship program is supported by the parent organization of NHS, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
