With the arrival of spring, softball has come back in full swing after a challenging year. Initially, the team struggled to find players for this season, but they were able to make a team and determine set positions. They’ve had a total of four games, three regular-season games and one pre-season game. According to coach DeAnn Kamalani, players are looking more confident than ever. Batting is a huge role in the sport, and the players have batted .333 against Orosi in one of the latest games.

The players have missed the game and have a great passion for the sport, senior player Priya Cheema especially. When asked about the team, she stated, “Minarets softball is a growing program. We have been struggling over the past couple years but we have grown. It was rough starting this season but we are improving every practice.”

Despite the challenges of the year, players are grateful to get the opportunity to play and make memories with their teammates.
