Fall has fallen upon us and with it comes Minarets winter sports, including boys basketball. In fact, tryouts already start on Monday, Oct. 28.
Varsity head coach Chris Bedolla explain “This year’s team has been working all summer and have great chemistry, lots of potential is displayed and we plan on doing great things this year." Junior Varsity has a new head coach, history teacher Bob Kelly. Both coaches encourage any new players seeking to play to come out this Monday and show what you got.
The basketball team practiced all summer playing in tournaments where they worked with each other to see what works and what doesn't. It's pretty clear this group of boys love to play ball with one another, whether it's lifting each other up after a bad play or celebrating a three. Varsity Captain Micheal Chacon explained, "I had so much fun over summer ball with my teammates we really got a good look on what's coming later into our season - those pesky badgers better watch out."
Minarets basketball tryouts are still going on so if you're interested come out to the gym after school. Show full effort as both coaches have high expectations in line for this year.
