On Friday, March 22nd, 2019, Minarets students surprised their teacher, Señora UP, with a baby shower. Maegen Redman, a Minarets junior, was in charge of organizing the entire baby shower as a proper send-off for Señora UP.
Maegen had been holding secret meetings to plan and organize the baby shower since the beginning of February. Students got together and signed up to bring food as well as purchase decorations for the baby shower.
On the day of the baby shower, participating students were called out at 11:00 am to set up. The baby shower was held in the media lounge, and the students were able to quickly decorate and set up decorations.
When everything was ready, the students anticipated Señora UP's arrival. All Minarets students and teachers were invited, and a flyer was sent out through email.
The baby shower was a huge success, and all students, teachers, as well as Señora UP had a blast. There were tacos, quesadillas, and even cake!
The end was bittersweet, however. Señora UP had her last day at Minarets before her maternity leave on March 29th, 2019. Minarets is going to miss her very much while she is gone, but we all know that she will be back soon with her bundle of joy! Señora UP, we all love and miss you very much!
