Creed, Impromptu, and Parli Pro: Minarets FFA Steps into the Competition Season

Minarets FFA hosted their annual FFA Speaking Invitational this past weekend where many different schools from all over the state came to participate in different FFA competitions. Minarets put out a strong performance at this first contest of the year bring home awards from every contest. Adrienne Hall, an 8th grade member of our chapter, took first in the Creed contest. Cameron Johnston took second place in the impromptu public speaking contest

In parliamentary procedure, Minarets swept it. Both advanced teams placed in the top five with Minarets gold consisting of seniors Aaron Hall, Dilan Basila, Michael Rezendes, Garrett Alford, Katie Linderholm, Natalie Anselmo taking first.


The younger of the two advanced teams, Minarets purple, took fifth. That team consisted of juniors Daniel Speak, Reiley Stenberg, Maddie Wristen, Katelyn Hough, Meranda Adams, and Colby Jobinger.


The up and coming novice team which is made up of, freshman Brayton Stenberg, sophomores Morgan Pelowski, Syler Pillsbury, Justin Bowe, Jake Dowell, and freshman Lane Sheehan took first. With all of the team members receiving high chair awards.


Juniors Daniel Speak and Meranda Adams were interviewed after the contest. Daniel said, “The contest went really well...it was a fun day were we got to compete in our first contest, where we learned how to improve for our upcoming contests”. Daniel seemed very proud of his teams results and was counting to looking towards the teams future. Meranda also stated that, “It was overall a great outcome...and I believe I improved my Parliamentary skills at this invitational” Overall the teams appeared to see this contest as a step in the right direction in their hopes to winning state this year.
