Minarets High School contains many great minds, from the young new students, to the experienced intelligent teachers. For ten years, Minarets has been working hard to create the best environment it can, both in education, and in community.

ABC30 came to Minarets to try and capture that positive environment on Friday, September 21st, 2018, and broadcast it to everybody! Many Minarets students came out at 5:15 AM that Friday morning, and worked hard to provide ABC30 with the best presentation of Minarets they could. The event was a big success, promoting the many different clubs and groups here at Minarets, and how they are capable of working together to create the positive environment Minarets strives so hard to achieve.

The specific focus of this feature was to feature their Game of the Week- this week it was the Minarets Football Game taking place that night. Even though the main focus was the football team here at Minarets, and the rally was taking place at 5:15 AM, there was an extremely good turnout, bleachers packed full of students. The feature of the Minarets Football team served as a strong reminder of the support and camaraderie Minarets shows as a school. During the event, head football coach Beacher Marr said, “The biggest help to us is just the whole school supporting us, so when we have a big crowd, and we have people excited about what we’re doing on the field, it helps the guys stay motivated, work a little bit harder, run a little faster, do all the things well.” He talks about the way that this event, this show of support and camaraderie, really does create an environment in which all groups, teams, and people can be successful. The Spanish and Dance teacher at Minarets, Señora Urrutia-Polnitz, simply said “This is great, this is really cool, to see so many students here so early in the morning, still energized and celebrating our school. It’s awesome.”

And awesome it was. The students of Minarets did a fantastic job promoting the support and community of Minarets, showing that we are one school, where everyone can be successful. The positive atmosphere and cheerful the Minarets students presented that Friday is sure to draw the eyes of parents and aspiring students looking for a High School to attend.

Thanks to the Minarets Media Crew for going to the event and recording on site interviews and an informational video!
