As part of the Leadership class, Minarets continues to reach out to district middle schoolers through Link Crew. During their visits, they spend time with 7th and 8th graders from North Fork Elementary and Spring Valley Elementary and get to know them over the course of the year. The whole point of Link Crew is to get the middle school students talking about different topics, prepare them for high school, and help show them what Minarets has to offer. Leadership student and junior Luna Moreno said, “I enjoy the experience of meeting these kids, and being able to get to know them.”
Minarets Link Crew also hopes to start visiting Hillside Elementary, the newest school to Chawanakee Unified, and getting to know their middle schoolers. Leadership student and junior Izabella Parada said, “I absolutely enjoy Link Crew. It is so amazing seeing these young students that have the potential to grow into strong and smart people.”
With the establishment of Link Crew in 2017, its become a big part of the Minarets Leadership program and has shown the Minarets leadership students how to connect and how to become closer with the students out of our high school.
