Second Annual Agriscience Fair

Updated: May 20, 2020

Here at Minarets, we’re very proud of all our Ag classes and a recent addition to the classes have been the Agriscience Fair. According to the instructions for this project, “its a practical, hands-on project that uses the scientific method to answer a real scientific problem that relates to agriculture.” Each student selects their topics, conducts their own experiments, and create displaying the process and results. The boards are then gathered in the gym and judged by a group of staff and community members.

Some of this year's top projects were done by junior Natalie Anselmo, freshman Johanna Ziegler and junior Greta Ziegler. Natalie explained that her topic was PH levels in water. “I went through and measured different PH levels of water with the different brands.” Natalie enjoyed making her board the most out of the whole project “because I made it colorful and glittery.” Natalie informed me that there were five different categories to choose from and each student was allowed to choose one. She said there’s about 400 AG students and that she got fifth place on her project.

Even though the next Agriscience Fair isn't until next year, it's never too early for students to plan their next science experiment!
