Juniors and Seniors: Are You Ready for the CAASPP?

Updated: Sep 27, 2020

Attention junior and senior mustangs! The CAASPP test is coming up very soon. All juniors are required to take the English and Math test and seniors are required to take the science portion. If you are unsure of what the CAASPP is, this information may be helpful to you:

1. CAASPP stands for California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress. The title is pretty self explanatory, the test is merely an assessment of your progress in each subject area.

2. Juniors: Your testing week is from May 20th-24th. You may not test the entire week, but be prepared for the test to take place in that time window.

3. Seniors: Your only testing day is Wednesday, May 29th. This is the day before Grad Nite. You will be required to come to school to take the test and then will be permitted to leave campus.

4. Your testing will begin first thing in the morning. You will be separated into different classrooms and your room assignment will be posted in front of the office first thing in the morning right before your test.

5. Be on time! Normally, students are required to report to their assigned classrooms to prepare for testing by 8:30.

6. Bring snacks! You will most likely get hungry during the test and you will need some fuel in the morning. If you would rather not bring snacks, be sure to eat breakfast before arriving to school.

7. You will be released at lunch. Testing does not take place all day.

8. Your scores will be sent to you via mail over the summer. You will be able to see how you scored in each area and what level you are on for your grade.

9. Do your best! This test is just to see your performance skills, it does not hurt you in any way if you score poorly. However, it is very important that you try your best and work to your best efforts on this test to ensure that your results are a true representation of your work as a student.

Now that you are fully prepared, get ready to take your CAASPP and do your very best! Go mustangs!
